Followap integrates its Presence solution with HP technologies
The iFollow Presence Server becomes a key element of HP's Service Delivery Platform, running on HP Integrity servers under HP-UX or Linux, with HP Services handling integration. Reissued with minor edits on 30 June 2004.
London - June 17, 2004 - Followap announced that it has signed an agreement to integrate its leading carrier-class presence solutions with HP hardware and software platforms to provide wireless operators with a complete solution that lays the foundation for mobile services.
The combination of Followap's state-of-the-art iFollow Presence Server and HP's Itanium-based Integrity servers running the HP-UX or Linux operating system creates a comprehensive, standards-based solution for mobile operators worldwide. The solution, integrated and supported by HP Services, enables operators to rapidly launch attractive presence-based services such as Instant Messaging, Chat, Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC), Presence-Enabled Contacts (PEC) and Online Gaming.
As part of the agreement, iFollow is being evaluated for certification on HP platforms. HP Services provides consulting and integration services. iFollow is a standards-based product, implementing all major presence standards, including OMA IMPS, SIP/SIMPLE, OSA/Parlay PAM and XMPP.

Under the agreement, the iFollow-based presence solution will be integrated as a key element within the HP Service Delivery Platform (SDP).
